My story

I trained as a doctor at Oxford University,

I loved my surgical career, but after having my children, I found myself caring for my patients and my family while forgetting to look after myself.

Operating on people who really needed my help was incredibly rewarding. Until it wasn’t. I was looking after my patients and my family, but I wasn’t looking after myself.

Despite knowing exactly what I should be doing, I wasn’t doing it. I wasn’t moving as much, I wasn’t sleeping well, and I wasn’t looking after myself.

And it hit me. Hard.

I’d always been an athlete: Oxford rugby Blues, county-level running and college boat club captain. I understood movement, strength and nutrition. But I wasn’t living it any more.

I had to rebuild. Not just my fitness, but my energy, my mental health and my ability to actually enjoy the life I was working so hard for.

When I finally made those shifts, movement, food, rest and support, I felt like a different person.

So I took a step back. I left surgery and built a new way to help people stay strong, move well and take an active role in their health.

Client results

“I’ll never manage to go to a gym for an hour a week. But by the end of the week, I’ve done an hour of targeted exercise”

“I’m sooo lazy and really struggle to motivate myself to exercise, but this is so easy to fit into my day. Just 10 minutes, no changing clothes, no complicated equipment and no need to think or plan it myself.

The sessions are manageable, but I definitely feel challenged. I love the variety, the clear explanations of what we’re doing and why, and knowing I can trust Kate’s expertise. There are always options to suit how I’m feeling that day.

I hate doing cardio, but I know I can do it the way Kate sets it up, so I do! I even find myself doing squats or stretches while I’m waiting somewhere.

You need practical, evidence-backed strategies that actually work in real life.

I’ve spent years studying movement and health, reading academic research and publishing my own work. I have an MA from the University of Oxford, an MD from the University of Edinburgh and more than 15 published research papers.

But knowing the science is only part of the picture. What matters is turning that knowledge into things you can actually do.

My job is to cut through the noise and help you find realistic ways to stay strong, mobile and confident in your body — without needing to overhaul your life.

Whether you want to start moving more in your everyday life or take a more focussed approach to building strength, there’s a way to get started working with me.
